Pinky's & Roses

& Quokkas, Oh My.

Pinky’s Rottnest Island

An Island Dream. This Autumnal Thursday in May turned out to be a spectacular day for getting married with the backdrop of the lighthouse & quokka friends.

Tara & Ryan

Tara & Ryan kept it simple. They wedded up on the deck at Pinky’s, headed down to the beach for photos then back up to the bar to party.

Come see the quokka ‘brosmaid‘, the “mini-bride” flower girl, the white-wash of confetti of this island dream.

I admire the vision of getting all your friends and family to cross the ocean for a wedding. But, what about, to an ISLAND so you can have both a holiday AND a wedding. There is no better local place to do it than Rottnest Island. In fact, with a half hour ferry from Fremantle and a range of accommodation to choose from, this is the quickest overseas wedding you can create from Perth. I felt like we were a world away in minutes, which is no easy feat.

When you arrive it’s instant holiday mode as we made our way on our bicycles to Discovery Resorts Glamping. After some pre-wedding swimming with dolphins, I was in the perfect mood to capture the magic of this wedding day.

The lighthouse is the perfect backdrop at Pinky’s and the easy walk down to the beach is a dream for guests who want to get their toes sandy. Additionally, the quokkas made some cute appearances to munch on roses and enjoy the dancefloor.
